Chorlton Arts Festival
Stories of the River Irwell explores the misunderstood River Irwell; a 39-mile stretch of water often described as “the dirtiest river in the country”. The River Irwell played a fundamental role during the Industrial Revolution, but became polluted (almost) beyond hope as a result. Today the river stands as one of the greatest untold conservation stories of our generation.
Join us at Chorlton Library for a screening of Stories of the River Irwell, followed by a talk by Luke Blazejewski about his work as an urban wildlife photographer, and his love for a river that many people turned their back on long ago.
