A spotlight on women who’ve made waves throughout arts and culture in the city, from the Industrial Revolution to today: those who bucked the trends, those who were considered controversial, those at the forefront of the city’s counterculture. From a theatre pioneer who studied the occult to a poet whose career was kickstarted by lithium, the world-famous musician living in an inner-city squat to the woman whose death drew thousands to a local museum, Women of the Arts surveys 200 years of female contributions to the arts in Manchester.
This tour is part of the Festival Square programme of Manchester International Festival. All tickets must be booked on MIF’s website and Skyliner gift vouchers are not redeemable.
