Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal

TRAVELS ON THE CANAL

VIDEO BY Tom Jeffs

A short film by Tom Jeffs, travelling along the Salford arm of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal.

An aerial tour of the Salford arm of this derelict canal. Absolutely no commercial use of the aerial shots is allowed (as per CAA guidelines for aerial flying). If anyone would like a copy of the footage for non-commercial use, please let me know. Music is Berlin Song, by Ludovico Einaudi.

To raise awareness of the beautiful local waterway Tom Jeffs has filmed the Salford arm of the canal. Tom hopes that one day enough support will fuel a restoration of the canal.

Locations in the short film include Middlewood Locks, behind the old police station on Salford Crescent, Lissadel Street, Agecroft Cemetery, Agecroft Road, and near the old chloride factory in Clifton.

Previous attempts to restore the canal have included the functional public art of Liam Curtin who created a giant Meccano bridge at the wonderfully named Nob End near Little Lever.
